A senior position within the department, we are looking for an individual with a passion for all things related to User Interface Development who can lead the development on large scale projects. Working with and leading other User Interface Developers, the successful candidate will be able to set the standards and success criteria of the project.
The candidate will be able to work closely with all other departments to ensure projects are well defined and can deliver high quality work.
The successful candidate will have skills in mentoring other members of the team, dictating quality by example as well as one to one coaching.
They will also be able to keep abreast of emerging techniques, and train other members of the department in these techniques.
Successful candidates must be well organised and have the drive to help ensure projects are delivered on time and to a high standard.
This role requires an excellent knowledge of all different types of HTML.This includes the ability to code in both HTML5 and XHTML.
This role requires an excellent knowledge of the latestCSS techniques as well as tried and tested techniques.
This role requires excellent leadership and mentoring skills. Successful candidates will be responsible for leading other team members on large scale projects and are required to ensure quality from all team members.
Client facing skills
This role requires excellent client facing skills.Successful candidates will be a client contact on projects, and must be able to confidently present in front of a client. They must also be able to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
This role requires excellent estimating skills. This includes the ability to accurately estimate based on other team member’s skill sets, identify potential issues and define dependencies.
The role requires an excellent knowledge of mobile and tablet support. In particular, knowledge of a variety of techniques is required as is the ability to identify when to use particular techniques.
This role requires an excellent knowledge of accessibility. This includes having practical experience of implementing the principles and techniques of the WCAG 2.0.
Image Editing Software
This role requires a good knowledge of at least one industry standard image editing software - preferably Photoshop.
This role requires an excellent knowledge of browser capabilities. This includes the ability to make build decisions based on browser support at the beginning of projects.
Candidates must have at least 5 years experience, and be able to demonstrate their skills in an articulate and confident way. They must also be able to demonstrate their ability to lead teams, solve problems and maintain quality.
During interview, candidates must be able to show examples of work and be able to explain build decisions in a clear manner to the interviewer.
Successful candidates will be responsible for leading teams building high quality user interface code for websites.
This will include close collaboration with the Creative and UX team to ensure all suggested designs can be built and can be made accessible.
This role is responsible for the quality of User Interface Development on individual projects, and successful candidates will need to work with QA to implement quality controls on all projects they are responsible for.
This role is responsible for ensuring accuracy in both functional and visual aspects of the User Interface Development. Working closely with Design and UX to review templates and functionality, this role is required to ensure that the final product matches the vision of the Creative and UX departments as well as the requirements of the project.
The successful candidate will report into the Head of User Interface Development. Annual objectives will be set in consultation with the Head of User Interface Development, which will be reviewed on a regular basis.
