      2. Add your DNS records

      We’ll share your Domain Name System (DNS) records with you, which you will need to update your domain host account.

      We'll support you through this process.

      3. You’re all done!

      Once complete, simply wait for the changes to take effect.

      This typically takes a few hours but can take up to 48 hours.

      Will I need to purchase a domain name?

      Yes, if you don’t already own your club's domain name, you will need to purchase one. We recommend using Cloudflare, but there are other companies you can register your domain name with.

      Why is there an annual fee for hosting our domain name?

      In addition to the initial set-up work involved in hosting your domain name on your Clubspark website, there are also hosting and security costs for us to be able to offer this service.

      Can you add an email account for us?

      Clubspark is compatible with existing mail setups but does not offer or manage email hosting. You will need to contact your domain registrar to see if this is something they can provide for you. Our recommended domain provider offers setup with standard email providers like Google Mail, ProtonMail, and ZoHo.

      Why is an SSL certificate necessary?

      A website needs an SSL certificate to keep user data secure, verify website ownership, prevent attackers from creating a fake version of the site, and gain user trust.

      • Encryption: SSL/TLS encryption is possible because of the public-private key pairing that SSL certificates facilitate. Clients (such as web browsers) get the public key necessary to open a TLS connection from a server's SSL certificates
      • Authentication: SSL certificates verify that a client is talking to the correct server that owns the domain; this helps prevent domain spoofing and other kinds of attacks.
      • HTTPS: Most crucially for businesses, an SSL certificate is necessary for an HTTPS web address. HTTPS is the secure form of HTTP, and HTTPS websites are websites that have their traffic encrypted by SSL/TLS.
