About the role

You will work very closely with the CEO and COO in setting and delivering our product roadmap for the development of our award winning Platform using your specialist knowledge of sports competition, tournament planning, sports venues, the requirements of sports coaches and participants to continue to deliver our world leading SAAS platform.

This is a key role for our business at an important phase of our product life cycle.

Key Responsibilities

 

o   Working with National Governing Bodies (such as USTA / Intercollegiate Tennis Association), sports venues from small volunteer led to commercial operators, sports coaches and participants to understand their requirements from the platform, prioritise these requirements for the platform roadmap and set the vision for the platform so that clients are aware of the upcoming functionality and timing of releases.

o  Working with project teams of developers, creative, QA, translate the client requirements into development stories for our team of developers to enable them to efficiently and effectively build the platform in line with the features and functionality required by our users.

o  Responsible for the initial designs, wireframes& prototypes for ClubSpark in relation to client requirements and obtaining client approval for these designs.    

o  Conduct demonstrations of new features of ClubSpark, the roadmap and our vision internally to the Customer Support team and externally to new and existing clients and end users.

o   Using your knowledge of the sports industry, conduct stakeholder interviews involving NGB representatives, venue administrators, coaches and participants for new clients and facilitate expert user groups from those already using the ClubSpark platform in order to capture functional and non-functional requirements. Explain during this process the capabilities of ClubSpark and establish areas for development to inform the ClubSpark development roadmap.

o   Support the Business Development team in writing proposals for clients which clearly define detailed functionality requirements and support the Finance Director in converting requirements into estimates for development time to enable accurate and commercial pricing.

o   Manage relationships with key clients as to the potential usage of ClubSpark. Meet with clients on a timely basis to understand their technology strategy and communicate to clients how ClubSpark can support their strategy.  Obtain commitments from clients on future development and licencing of ClubSpark. Feedback the output of these meetings to the ClubSpark Executive to enable accurate pipeline reporting and resource planning.

o   Through a detailed understanding of ClubSpark, work closely with the project managers to ensure development of new features is delivered on time, to budget and meets the requirements of users.

o  Through your knowledge of ClubSpark and the sports industry, you will be responsible for ensuring ClubSpark remains ahead of our competitors by working with expert users (coaches, venue administrators, players, NGB Participation team representatives) to define new feature enhancements and ensuring these are translated accurately to the development team.

Skills, knowledge & experience required:

●      Minimum 4 years’ experience developing and implementing sports management software services and systems across different continents and different time zones;

●      Proven experience managing digital competition products, with responsibility for successfully developing and integrating competition and tournament products and programs for tennis coaches, venues and players;

●      Previous experience working in a global SAAS Company;

●      Minimum 4years’ product management experience of working on a SaaS platform in Tennis (or similar) sports sectors;

●      Excellent understanding and skills delivering technology products in SAAS businesses for Sports National Governing Bodies;

●      Significant experience (minimum 4 years) and excellent knowledge of tennis competition and tournament planning;

●      Minimum 4 years’ experience managing and integrating competition schedules and programs within a competition product;

●      Proven communication skills, including the ability to clearly communicate ideas, fully client-facing;

●      Strong negotiation skills;

●      Excellent product and project management skills;

●      Previous experience of using JIRA/Confluence;

●      Continuous improvement mindset;

●      Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail;

●      Business analysis experience, including documentation of business requirements / user stories;

●      Proven strategic planning experience, executing and delivering projects over the longer term;

●      Product management mindset - this is vital as we continue the transition from an agency-based model to a product business;

●      Financial management of projects;

●      Proven ability to balance and prioritize multiple projects and priorities and

●      Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Sports related field.

●    Individuals may work remotely from anywhere in the United States (our preference is for a candidate based in Florida where our team is based)
