About the role

This is a key role for our company and will support our Executive team in ensuring the effective delivery of the company’s mission. The role is responsible for making sure our architectural strategy and design supports the technical strategy, business strategy and vision for the company and our products.

The role will own architectural design and technology platform choices; guide front/back-end system design including web and mobile applications; direct integration with technology partners; troubleshoot integration and deployment issues; and develop alternative solutions, workarounds and triaging to resolve software issues.

 -       has an uncanny ability to know ‘what to do’ in just about any situation - your breadth of experience ‘been there, done that’ and pragmatic approach across abroad range of technology, organisational and industry scenarios will add value across a myriad of business, project and technology situations;

-       is great at seeing the big picture - understands what we are trying to achieve and the business processes we are using whilst at the same time you are comfortable and capable to deep dive into the specifics to ensure our technology solutions meet our business needs at all levels;

-       is an expert and credible communicator - effective communication with our Executive team, product management and technology partners will be essential to your success;

-       understands non-functional requirements such as usability, reliability, performance, supportability, and security; and

-       is always learning and staying relevant.

Skills, knowledge & experience required:

-       Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering / Computer Science

-       Proven experience leading the architectural strategy, design and implementation for large scale global SaaS product businesses with at least 5 years experience in a commercial environment (ideally with proven experience working in smaller dynamic companies)

-       Strong experience using Azure and Microsoft technologies is a bonus but also be comfortable working across a range of technologies

-       Have a proven track record of rapidly learning new technologies and systems

Technical skills:

-       Containerisation & microservices

-       Docker with Kubernetes

-       C# .NET

-       SQL & NoSQL Database

-       Public API development and design

-       Microsoft Azure

-       Test-driven development (TDD)

-       Domain Driven Design (DDD)

-       Agile development methodologies

-       DevOps core activities and related tools

Great if you also have experience with:

 -      Node.js

-       Swift

-       GraphQL

-       Client-side frameworks (e.g. Angular, React)

-       Kubernetes

-       Experience in the sporting or wellness sector
