About the role

We're looking for a talented and methodical UX Designer to join our product team. You’ll be working in a dynamic environment alongside a world-class team of entrepreneurs, technologists and clients, to help us constantly improve the user experience of our award-winning sport participation platform.

As a UX Designer you’ll work with creative and passionate UX Design specialists who are responsible for creating user-centred designs for digital products and services. As a member of our close-knit UX and Design team, you’ll champion the value of UX as part of delivery best practice across all digital products and services.

About you

- You have solid research skills and experience in gathering requirements, conducting user research and usability testing

- You’re a credible communicator and confident running workshops, creating wireframes, prototypes and other deliverables to help communicate your ideas

- Can see the big picture but will dive into the detail to get things done

- You're passionate about creating intuitive UX design through research and confident in translating product roadmaps and business requirements into engaging high performing experiences

- Always learning, staying relevant and offering your ideas, insight and tips

Key responsibilities

- Adhere to UX standards and patterns by working closely with the client and other designers on your team

- Create design assets such as prototypes, high-fidelity designs, personas, user flows and wireframes

- Advocate for the needs of the user, and design accessible products and services for our users with a variety of needs and abilities

- Run and participate in design workshops and present your work, both internally and to client stakeholders

- Accommodate business rules and constraints whilst following a user-centric approach and rapidly testing and iterating

- Conduct competitor analysis and report on areas of improvement by using analytics and design rationale

- Validate your designs through a range of testing methods

- Collaborate with other teams and specialisms, for example Developers, Product, Delivery, Content

- Analyse user and business requirements to seek out future opportunities within the platform

- Conduct stakeholder interviews and facilitate expert user groups in order to capture functional and non-functional requirements

- Have enough product and technical knowledge to be able to explain what needs to be done to developers

Skills, knowledge & experience required:

- Experience of working on website and mobile applications

- Deep understanding of best practice UX approaches and how to apply them

- Proven experience delivering a high standard of output in fast paced environment

- Experience working in a Lean / Agile/ Scrum methodology

- Collaborative and pragmatic approach to work

- Experience in and passion for sport and technology

- Experience of using wireframing and prototyping software

- Ability to present complex processes in a simple concise manner

- Excellent communication skills: written, diagrammatical and oral

- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

- Excellent research skills

- Continuous improvement mindset

- Must have a portfolio featuring examples of end to end design solutions

- 3+years of UX experience

Great if you also have:

- Experience of using Axure

- Experience with UI Tools like Figma, Zeplin though not essential

- Familiar using testing tools

- Experience using JIRA, Confluence and Google Analytics

- Experience working on SaaS products
