About the role

We're looking for a talented and methodical UX Designer to join our product team. The role will work very closely with our VP Product, Head of Design, Solution Architects and Product Managers to understand business and user requirements and help design new features for the ClubSpark product.

You will be working in a dynamic environment alongside a world-class team of entrepreneurs, technologists and clients, to help us constantly improve the user experience of our award-winning sport participation platform. You will have solid research skills and must have experience ingathering requirements, conducting user research and usability testing along with the ability to run workshops, create wireframes, prototypes and other deliverables to help communicate your ideas.

ClubSpark is looking for an accomplished UX expert, someone with a formal or practical training in all the psychological and design principles and methodologies surrounding UCD, from research methodologies to heuristic evaluation. If you’re passionate about creating intuitive design through research and are able to translate product roadmaps and business requirements into engaging high performing experiences, this could be your perfect role!

Key responsibilities

·       Conduct research and use data to inform decision making on product design

·       Conduct stakeholder interviews, facilitate expert user groups in order to capture functional and non-functional requirements

·       Create experiences – using appropriate methodology: personas, journeys, wireframes, interaction design, information architecture, prototypes and metrics

·       Put users at the centre of all features that are designed

·       Have enough product and technical knowledge to be able to explain what needs to be done to developers

·       Work with entire team to bring these experiences to life throughout the development lifecycle and find pragmatic solutions when challenges arise

Skills, knowledge & experience required:

·       At least 5 years of user centred design experience in UX roles

·       Full knowledge of theoretical and practical UX design rules (e.g. heuristics) with evidence of application of best practice UX approaches and how to apply them

·       Experience with UX Usability Testing and other Research methodologies

·       You will have created prototypes (low or hi fidelity) using standard prototyping tools e.g. Balsamiq, Axure, Figma, Sketch although you’re not a Visual Designer

·       Experience of working on website and mobile applications

·       Find ways to educate the company in UX methods and design principles

·       Experience working in a Lean / Agile methodology

·       Experience in and a passion for sport and technology

·       Must have a portfolio featuring examples of end to end design solutions

Great to also have...

·       Experience of using JIRA and Confluence

·       Experience of using Google Analytics

·       Experience in working on SaaS products

·       Experience of working in an agile software development environment
