The Lawn Tennis Association (LTA), is the national governing body of tennis in Great Britain. They were seeking a digital platform to help them measure, influence and build tennis participation across the UK.
The LTA required a cost-effective tool to help them ‘get people playing tennis more often’. To achieve this, they wanted to provide LTA registered tennis clubs and coaching businesses with an integrated digital platform which would automate their admin and management processes, leaving more time to deliver the game of tennis and ultimately increase participation across the UK.
Working in collaboration with the LTA, with regular input and feedback from tennis clubs,
The LTA’s investment, along with continued development and input from users, allowed the platform to grow and develop into a robust sports automation and management solution used by more than 1500 active organisations in the UK within its first year.
The success of the ClubSpark platform led to further investment from the LTA, alongside Tennis Australia, and continues to grow local tennis participation in the UK and beyond.
The ClubSpark automated booking, court and lighting access system, seamlessly integrates with third party gate and lighting systems to allow players to simply book online, via mobile and access courts or resources directly via membership card or access code. This gave players an improved, streamlined customer experience and a reduced workload for club staff.
The drive for seamless customer experiences was taken further with check-in and booking kiosks, which has allowed clubs to check-in players on arrival or book their next session through the easy to use interface.
The gated access and lighting system was initially piloted by Tennis Australia and trialled at tennis clubs across Australia, with a national rollout shortly after. Based on that success, the LTA has since rolled out the system to tennis clubs and recreational venues across the UK, experiencing continual high demand across the UK.
The LTA’s investment, along with continued development and input from users, has allowed the platform to grow and develop into the robust sports automation solution currently used by more than 2,500 clubs in the UK and engaging with more than 700,000 users.
In recognition of our transformational work with the LTA over the last four years, we scooped the award for Best Participation Technology at the 2017 Sports Technology Awards in London. Known as the Oscars of sports technology, the awards attracted entries from over 30 countries across the globe.
But our work doesn't stop there... we continue to invest our time and energy to continually make people more active through technology.
